The project involves creation of an application on the AS/400 using Lansa/AD case tool for the stock accountiing of Ballarpur Industries. The application being used for managing the stock accounts was PC based and very primitive. The new software reuirement was to computerize all activities, which were being done manually, and also to achieve a new design with better functionality.

Ballarpur has about 80,000 stockholders with varied reuirements round the year regarding their stockholdings like transfer of stocks, name changes on the certificates and to split or combine the number of stocks.

Dividend processing, the year-end activity, also needed new functionality and options. This process generates about 20 reports. The secretarial department saved about 60% of their time and labour with the new application.

SDI/Infotech was involved in a major project comprising of production, distribution, draw management and accounts. The software was developed in lansa on AS/400. The system consisted of over 250 physical files, 1250 rdml programs. We designed & developed the distribution module which involved 80 rdml programs consisting of interactive and batch programs, 11 reports in rdml and RPG400 using features like advanced print functions & user defined reporting attributes.

SDI/Infotech provided technical system support services to Amtrak to Migrate existing system 36 applications to the AS/400 and tested their functionality on the AS/400. To enhance security, SDI modified security using AS/400 security features to group similar users and allow the user to define access code usage by the application on the System 36. Modifications were made for License Plate Expiration Reports allowing for the selection of a specific division, department, and/or resloc. Additional options for print to division, department, resloc order. Modifications designed for the State License Plate Reports to allow selection of a specific division, department, and/or resloc. Fixing the report totaling of the total record count and adjust reports to exclude records without a state or license number to reduce the total number of pages printed.
